# Databases and tables

Manage workspace Catalog databases and tables through the Product API. Read the target Catalog and database first, use server-returned IDs and names, and verify schema or row changes through the relevant detail or query interface.

System, subscribed, and read-only objects do not accept write operations. A successful write response can still require a follow-up read before downstream work uses the result.
