# Volumes, folders, and files

Use volumes to organize workspace files. Create or select the target volume, then use returned identifiers for folders and files rather than constructing paths from display names.

File upload, import, move, and delete operations can have asynchronous effects. Check the current file state and any associated import run before relying on a result or removing a source.
