# From a conversation to a business assistant

Complete a real task first, then turn a proven approach into agent configuration. This makes it easier to judge whether the configuration helps.

## One-time tasks

Open a new conversation and specify the goal, inputs, and output format. For example: “Compare these two documents. List added, removed, and conflicting clauses, and cite their sources.” A task like this can use only the current attachments.

## A reusable business assistant

Create a dedicated agent when you repeatedly need the same responsibilities, information scope, and output requirements:

1. Open **Agents** and select **Create agent**.
2. Describe its purpose in the creation conversation so the platform can draft a configuration.
3. Review the candidate card and select **Confirm agent creation**.
4. Check the prompt and bound resources in agent details.
5. Start a new conversation and test a representative question.

See [Create an agent](../build-in-conversation/create-agent-by-chat.md) for the full procedure.

## Scheduled or externally triggered work

Once the task works reliably, select the agent in [Automation](../tasks/index.md) and configure the execution instructions and trigger. Saying “do this every day” in a conversation only becomes a manageable automation after the corresponding rule has been saved successfully.
