# Create an agent

Create a dedicated agent when a type of work needs lasting responsibilities, output requirements, and resource boundaries. The **Create agent** entry uses a conversation to generate its configuration.

## 1. Describe the business purpose

Open **Agents** and select **Create agent**. In the dedicated creation conversation, describe who the assistant serves, its inputs, processing steps, expected output, and boundaries.

For example:

> Create a product terminology assistant. Its input is the product documentation I provide. Extract terms, explanations, and source evidence, remove duplicates, and produce a three-column table. Mark unsupported explanations as needing confirmation. Name it “Product terminology assistant.”

## 2. Review the draft

Read the proposed name, description, and system prompt. Clarify unclear responsibilities with a follow-up, such as “Do not include ordinary words in the glossary.” Bind knowledge bases and skills after creation if the assistant needs lasting reference material or reusable procedures.

## 3. Confirm the candidate card

When a candidate configuration card appears, expand its system prompt and use the card's editing controls to correct it. Select **Confirm agent creation** after reviewing the configuration. Cancel the candidate if you do not want to use it.

A conversational statement that the agent was created does not replace this confirmation. Check for the ready state, the card's **Go to chat** entry, and the actual object in **My agents**.

## 4. Check resources and test

Open the new agent's details and inspect the prompt, skills, tools, and knowledge bases. The workspace may supply default capabilities; an empty resource list in the draft does not prove the created assistant has no default skills or tools.
