# Complete your first conversation

This exercise uses the document-organization starter on the home page to take you from preparing inputs to checking the result.

## 1. Open a new conversation

Select **New conversation** in the left sidebar. Check the agent selected in the input area. For your first attempt, use a general-purpose agent available in the workspace.

## 2. Prepare the request and materials

Select the **Organize documents** starter. The platform checks the sample resources and inserts an example prompt and attachments into the input area. **You still need to send the message.** Before sending, edit the request or remove the sample attachments and add your own files.

For your own materials, try:

> Read the uploaded files and produce a table with item, main content, source evidence, and questions to confirm. Distinguish information explicitly stated in the files from information I still need to provide.

A useful request specifies the problem, the materials to use, and the desired result format.

## 3. Send and wait for execution

Select **Send**. The page displays model or tool execution status. To stop the current execution, select the stop button or press Esc. Uploading, retrieval, and generation can take time; check execution status before retrying.

## 4. Check the answer

Read the result and verify its sources. For a comparison, check that every attachment was included, that differences are supported by the originals, and that missing information is identified. Follow up with requests such as “Show the evidence for the second item” or “Keep only the items I need to act on.”

## 5. Continue or start another task

Keep follow-up questions about the same materials in this conversation. To change assistants or begin an unrelated task, use a new conversation. See [Manage conversation history](conversation-history.md).
