# Events


Event records help you review the **operations history** of database instances for auditing and troubleshooting.

Billing transactions are not shown in events. View them in the bills and transaction details under [Instance billing](../billing/matrixone-billing.md).

## View events

1. Sign in to the **Instance Management Platform**.
2. Open the event records within the available time range.
3. Filter by time range, event description, and other criteria. Fuzzy search is supported.

**Retention:** approximately the **past month**.

## Event types (examples)

Common event types include:

- Create, terminate, or restore an instance
- Unsubscribe from or delete an instance
- Renew an instance or change automatic renewal
- Change an instance name or password
- Convert an instance type
- Change the spending limit or service continuity setting
- Change the network policy or instance configuration

Refer to the console for the available filter options.
