Alerts¶
This page describes alerts in the MatrixOne Instance Management Platform. These alerts cover changes related to accounts, instance billing, and instance status, helping you identify risks promptly.
Alerts for data loading and data processing in a workspace are an AI Studio capability. See Monitoring and Alerts; its entry point is different from the one described on this page.
Alert rules¶
This feature focuses on monitoring in the Instance Management Platform and does not cover business-layer monitoring in the Database Management Platform.
View rules¶
Sign in to the Instance Management Platform and select Alerts > Alert Rules. You can view alert expressions, categories, severity levels, and other details. The system provides some key rules by default; you can enable, disable, modify, or delete them. Click the log entry on the right of a rule to go to Alert Records.
Create a rule¶
Select Alerts > Alert Rules > Create Alert (refer to the console for the exact menu label).
Item |
Description |
|---|---|
Alert category |
Account billing, instance billing, or instance status |
Alert expression |
Consists of a monitoring metric, comparison operator, threshold, aggregation period, and duration. The expression template is fixed, but the threshold can be adjusted; the same rule can have different thresholds. Each organization can have approximately 100 rules |
Alert severity |
Notice (email by default), Important (email + SMS), or Critical (email + SMS + phone call) |
Notification interval |
The minimum interval between two notifications while an alert continues to fire. The interval restarts after the issue is resolved. Changes to the threshold or interval immediately affect subsequent notifications. The interval is calculated independently for each entity |
Notification method |
Email, SMS, or phone call. Select recipients from Contacts. You may select no notification method, in which case only a log is recorded. If you select a method, you must specify a recipient |
Enabled status |
Enabled by default. You can specify an effective time or disable the rule permanently |
Common notification limits (refer to the console prompts for the current limits):
Phone calls: approximately 20 per day; for the same phone number, no more than 1 per minute, 5 per hour, and 20 per day. Calls may be blocked by the carrier
Email: no limit
SMS: approximately 100 per day
Contacts¶
Select Alerts > Contacts to manage notification recipients, each identified by a unique name. The organization’s primary account is included by default.
Create contact: Enter contact details. You can modify all properties except the ID, delete the contact, or disable it
The maximum number of contacts is approximately 1,000
Alert records¶
Alert records track the history of rule triggers. You can view records from approximately the past month and filter them by rule ID, expression, start and end times, and other criteria.
