Configure Tavily Search¶
Tavily retrieves web information with traceable source pages.
Prepare an API key¶
Sign in to the Tavily console. In API Keys, use the plus button to create a key or copy an existing one. Confirm that it belongs to the intended project and has available quota.
You need permission to create or edit tool configuration in the current MOI workspace. If the entry is missing or access is denied, contact the workspace administrator rather than using another person’s account.
Configure MOI¶
Open Resource Center → Tools → Tavily Web Search.
Select Configure API Key.
Paste the raw key into the required API Key field, without authentication-header text or quotes, and save.
Select Test connection and inspect its result.
Validate agent use¶
After saving, reopen the configuration to confirm it persists and run Test connection. Then bind the capability to the target agent, selecting the intended connection wherever an instance selector is provided. Inspect an actual tool call and compare its result with the target platform. A configured badge or a plausible answer alone is insufficient.
Ask the agent to search a public technical topic and list three source links. Confirm Tavily in the call record; an answer alone does not identify the provider in an environment with several search sources.
