Manage Catalog basic objects

When managing Catalog basic objects, first confirm the target catalog and database, then create, edit, or delete according to the object type. You cannot perform write operations on system catalogs, subscribed objects, or objects marked read-only. Models and custom operators use their own configuration flows; see Models and operators.

Create a catalog

  1. Open Resource Center > Catalog.

  2. In the Catalog list, click New Catalog.

  3. Enter a catalog name. Follow the validation rules shown in the current dialog.

  4. Optionally enter a catalog description.

  5. Click Confirm.

After a successful create, the catalog appears in the list. Edit and Delete in the catalog list are limited by your current permissions and the catalog type.

Edit or delete a catalog

  1. Find the target catalog in the catalog list.

  2. Click Edit to change the name or description, or click Delete.

  3. When deleting, review the reference-check result, then confirm the operation.

System catalogs do not show edit or delete entry points. Before deleting, confirm that the catalog contains no databases or downstream references you need to keep.

Create a database

  1. Open the target catalog details.

  2. Click New Database.

  3. Enter a database name and an optional description.

  4. Click Confirm.

After a successful create, the database appears in the catalog details list. The database list supports edit, delete, and refresh. Subscribed databases are read-only and do not support these write operations.

Create a table

  1. Open the target database details.

  2. Click Create > Table.

  3. Enter a table name and an optional description.

  4. In Field Definition, add at least one field and enter the field name and data type. Set a comment, default value, and primary key when needed.

  5. Click Confirm.

The current create-table dialog provides UI-based field definition. This page does not treat SQL file upload or pasting CREATE TABLE as the current create entry point.

Create a volume

  1. Open the target database details.

  2. Click Create > Volume.

  3. Fill in the information required by the dialog.

  4. After saving, return to the database details and confirm that the volume appears in the child-object list.

For previewing, downloading, and deleting files in a volume, see “View files in a volume” in Catalog.

Truncate, download, or delete a table

Database details provide the following actions for tables. Availability depends on permissions and object state:

Action

Result

Download

Download the table data.

Truncate

After a second confirmation, clear the data in the table. This operation cannot be undone.

Delete

Run a reference check first, then confirm deletion of the table.

Before deleting or truncating, confirm that no workflow, knowledge base, or other task is still using the table. When the page shows reference information, treat the reference-check result as the source of truth.

Limits when editing and deleting objects

  • Read-only catalogs, databases, and subscribed objects do not provide the corresponding write actions.

  • Whether delete is available depends on your current permissions and the object reference check.

  • A “submitted successfully” message only means the request returned success. After delete or truncate, reconfirm the list and details state.
