FAQ: MatrixOne Intelligence

Q: What isMatrixOne Intelligence?

A: MatrixOne Intelligence is a fully managed cloud-native data platform designed to provide cloud services for the HSTAP database MatrixOne. This cloud service significantly reduces the cost of MatrixOne deployment and operation and maintenance. If you prefer purely private deployment, you can also refer to MatrixOne Product Introduction for more information.

Q: Is there a free version of MatrixOne Intelligence?**

A: Yes, MatrixOne Intelligence currently offers up to 5 free database instances per user. Each instance will receive a certain amount of computing and storage resources every month, with a total value of up to 500 yuan. These resources will be automatically reset every month without setting limits on time.

Q:Is MatrixOne Intelligence MySQL compatible?

A: Yes, MatrixOne Intelligence is almost completely MySQL compatible, so you can easily migrate MySQL data to MatrixOne Intelligence for trial or development. For more specific information, see MySQL Compatibility.

Q: What does the instance onMatrixOne Intelligence refer to?

A: In MatrixOne Intelligence, you can create multiple MatrixOne(MO) instances. Each MO instance is equivalent to a traditional database, including database objects such as libraries, tables, views, and columns. MatrixOne Intelligence supports the creation of multiple types of MO instances, where Serverless and Standard instances are actually tenants of the MO cluster. With multi-tenant capabilities, you can quickly create (in seconds only) and scale or reduce instances, and enjoy high cost performance.

Q:What are the ways to connect to an instance on MatrixOne Intelligence?

A: Although the MatrixOne (MO) instance is deployed on the cloud, it supports two ways of accessing private networks between public and public clouds. During the initial research and trial stages, you can use the public network to directly connect to MO instances. However, when testing or entering production environments, it is recommended to use a private network to access MO instances. From the tool access perspective, MO supports a variety of tools and programming languages, including MySQL, JDBC, Python, Go, etc. In addition, MatrixOne Intelligence provides an intuitive database management platform for viewing the running status of a database and executing SQL statements. For more details, please refer to Connecting MatrixOne Instance.

Q:What is a Serverless instance? What are its characteristics?

A: The Serverless instance is a simple and economical MatrixOne instance on MatrixOne Intelligence. When creating, you need to plan the scale of computing nodes and storage resources, but you do not need to manually adjust the computing resources when business changes. The billing of Serverless instances is also relatively simple, and there is no need to pay for computing nodes, I/O, and network egress traffic separately. Users only need to charge for each SQL execution, the billing unit is Compute Unit (CU).

Q:How to control the consumption of Serverless instances?

A: Serverless instance is postpaid, and the consumption expenses of the previous hour will be counted after each hour. Although Serverless instances provide unlimited scalability, unlimited resources within the previous hour can result in billing being uncontrollable. To this end, the Serverless instance provides consumption limiting functionality. You can set daily or monthly spending caps, and MatrixOne Intelligence monitors spending caps and spending rates in real time and alerts in advance. Once the consumption limit is reached, services may be downgraded or suspended.

Q:How to view the consumption of each SQL in a Serverless instance?

A: In the instance list of MatrixOne Intelligence instance management platform, click the Connect button for the instance you want to view and the Connect to Platform button to log in to the MatrixOne Intelligence data management platform. Then, click the Query -> Query History menu on the left and you will see all the historical queries. MatrixOne Intelligence will count and display the CU consumption of each SQL. By default, the CU column is not displayed, you can click the column button and select CU.

Q: Caninstance be deleted? Can it be restored after deletion?

A: Yes, you can delete the instance by clicking the "Terminate" button of an instance in the instance list. MatrixOne Intelligence automatically retains the instance after deletion for 3 days. If deleted by mistake, you can restore the instance within 3 days.

Q: How to bill the storage ofinstances?

A: MatrixOne uses object storage technology to store almost all data on object storage in the public cloud. This storage method is cost-effective and highly available. The storage fee for MatrixOne is the same as the official public cloud website. For postpaid instances, such as Serverless instances or Standard instances, MatrixOne Intelligence calculates the average storage usage by hour. For prepaid instances (such as Standard annual monthly instances), MatrixOne Intelligence will be charged at one time based on the price and discounts of public cloud object storage.

Q: Is there any discount or discount forMatrixOne Intelligence?

A: Yes, MatrixOne Intelligence offers similar discounts to databases on the public cloud, including 1-year, 2-year, and 50% off for prepaid instances. In addition, MatrixOne Intelligence also offers an additional discount mechanism. It should be noted that the discount here only involves computing resources, because the price of data storage is consistent with the price of public clouds, no storage discount is provided. MatrixOne Intelligence also offers vouchers that you can get through a variety of events or business channels.
